TherapyNotes, SimplePractice, and TherapyAppointment are considered the top three systems for therapists and mental health professionals. Oyinyechi Abraham, a virtual assistant at My Freedom VA breaks down the pros and cons of each system, offering an honest review from a daily user.

The platform is best known for being highly structured with customizable note templates, quick diagnosis code searches, and client history summaries. We like using this platform because it is simple and clean, however it is also basic, without the same level of intuitive features as other programs.

The Winner

Our virtual assistants preferred Simple Practice 80% of the time with Therapy Appointment a distant second and Therapy Notes the least liked platform. We like the simple design and intuitive features available with Simple Practice, including the automatic flagging of delinquent accounts for collections eligibility.

While Therapy Appointment offers a simple, less intuitive design, it lacks some of the advanced automation features that make Simple Practice stand out. Therapy Notes offers robust customization, which often feels overly complex and less user-friendly.
